i just received my own copy of my latest book In the Weaver's Valley. (You can get your copy at blue lion books. thanks goes out to peter ganick and jukka-pekka kervinen.)
it's always exciting for my to get a look at one of my own works. with this one, it somehow makes the project seems more real. for those of you who have not heard me ramble about this book, it was written over the course of 50 days. i wrote five poems a day using a variety of techniques, from cut-up to random generation to traditional form to recording voices into a word processing program. as i worked, the weavers (from the title obviously) started to emerge. they seem to be creators of culture, perhaps people, perhaps just shades, who have been marginalized to valleys where few reside. the persona who appears is trying to burn processed language and live among whatever fragments remain after the fire, while at the same time he/she is trying to figure out who the weavers are and if he/she is one. (note: you have to be a careful reader to pick this up in all the fragments thrown at you.)
by the way, if you'd like a review copy, please let me know. i'd like all the help i can get in letting people know about this book and about the interesting works coming out of blue lion books. i'd also be willing to trade book for book.
