i searched cyber non-being today for poetry readings in memphis since i might be there in the near future. i remember a place from years ago, but today i had no luck finding it. are there poetry readings in memphis? at least the u of memphis should be sponsering readings. have all the poets left? does the south push its best poets to leave? i don't mean to be critical here. i know excellent poets in new orleans, atlanta, dallas, and houston. what about the other southern cities? experimental poets are writing in the south, but are they reading anywhere? if you have any info, send it along.
