Ἀφυὴς γραμματικὸς ἐρωτηθείς· ἡ μήτηρ Πριάμου τίς ἐκαλεῖτο; ἀπορῶν ἔφη· ἡμεῖς κατὰ τιμὴν κυρίαν αὐτὴν καλοῦμεν
A dumb grammarian/teacher was asked, "Who is the mother of Priam?" Without knowing he said, "It's honorable to call her Mistress." (perhaps "lady of the house" would work better-- it's sad when you botch an extremely old joke.)
