Ron Silliman has a review up of The City Visible: Chicago Poetry for the New Century. I'm glad he has taken the time to look over the book. I think, and it's hard to say as an editor, that it is a good introduction to some of the great poetry being written in Chicago.
Is it inclusive? No. We tried to make it more inclusive than it is, but gathering over 50 poets in one collection is not an easy task. Trying to get the ones in that we have felt like an epic adventure, and unfortunately, we could not convince some poets to get on board or to send us their work on time.
As far as Ray and I, anyone who knows us is aware that we are both interested in experimental work. The book leans that way, but we were trying to include more than just our views of the city.
(As for the ordering, there is one, but you'll have to ask me personally.)
