last night i heard eric baus and noah eli gordon read at the discrete series. gordon's work was filled with many single lines that remained with me, but the work i most enjoyed hearing was from his The Frequencies. that collection holds together well, and it was nice to see him read from it, especially since his reading of it seemed more controlled than the reading of several other pieces he did.

as an aside, he gently rocked when he read, and with his tatoos and black shirt, he reminded me of an elvis-era rocker--i was ready for him to switch from reading to singing.
