The Daily Glance (The Kollectiv Series)

Mark Lamoureux's Barecelona Poems is an ekphrastic collection based on paintings in Barcelona. They are short and descriptive, but without even knowing most of the paintings, I can see the images clearly that Lamoureux shows us. These pieces are concise but aware of their connection to the art world.

Chickenwire: abyss of
clay,

an orifice.

While I would like to see the painting, poems like this one are interesting on their own. In fact, the creation process often feel like an "abyss of /clay." I suspect it is Lamoureux's words that draw that out, not necessarily the original piece. This short collection is interesting, and it makes me want to go see the art pieces in their "museum" spaces.
