Steve Timm’s‘n’altra storio plays with the sound of words and makes us question their meanings in altered contexts. Funny enough, I initially strayed away from the chapbook because of the title. I like Timm’s work. I like his performances, but the book has a bad Italian title—properly it would be un’altra storia. Finally turning to look at it, I found it to be classic Timm work, which to me seems like a combination of kurt schwitters and langpo. That also means that I don’t always know what is going on in the poems, but the sound is what is fascinating to me. It’s like listening to improve music—you just have to listen without thinking about conclusions. Take, for example, this bit randomly quoted from the chapbook:
On the affrontiere
the soilage’s smatters, sdude with your stude
can the weapon shruf froth
family circles
Aunt Everything is fine.
