A Daily Glance

Logan Ryan Smith's Tracks is a collection of individual poems, but it's best read in one sitting as a complete project. The railroad tracks image occurs over and over in the poems, and it suggest a path in life that might be confusing to the passenger but which nevertheless is planned out. The speaker seems mystified and scared at times, but the poems are controlled. In fact, the poems seem firmly rooted among the descendants of the Black Mountain poets. Throughout the collection are brief narratives that are intriguing to trace as one reads.
