The Daily Glance
Biagio Cepollaro's Trigrammi is a vispo e-book that relies on layering texts and shapes so that each image appears to be multiple poems layered on top of each other. A few of the pieces consist of shaped poetry layered so that we see arrows or spirals. In fact, two of the pieces have arrow themes, and it seems that we should be following them to see where they lead. Much of the text is by hand, and often the text is unreadable because it is cut out by other text or another layer. These images seem like stills of our language infused life, with the hand lettering like thought or heard language and the type as what we read. Ultimately, there is so much thrown onto the images that its hard to interpret individual strings of words, but the urge to do it remains.
